Roca Group, through Roca Group Ventures (RGV), has collaborated with Greenly to address the challenge of measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions at the group level, a key priority within its global sustainability strategy.

Following a structured selection process, a contract was formalised to support the calculation, measurement, and reporting of emissions. The project was executed as planned and successfully rolled out at a global level, delivering high-quality service and robust analytical outputs.

This initiative represents an important step in strengthening Roca Group’s capabilities in emissions management and data-driven sustainability decision-making.

The collaboration significantly accelerated data collection and emissions calculation, reducing timelines to 1.5–2.0 months from 5–7 months previously. Manual consolidation of 192 Excel files was replaced by direct uploads to GREENLY with automated consolidation, while AI-based quality control (OneSchema) ensured higher data reliability. The project now covers 69 Group subsidiaries, 5 more than in the previous campaign, strengthening Group-wide emissions visibility and control.

Last September, Roca Group, through Roca Group Ventures (RGV), its corporate venture capital and open innovation platform, took part in an investment panel focused on Water Tech startups at the European Water Tech Accelerator Startup Bootcamp, held on 24–25 September 2025 at the Roca London Gallery.

Boon, a WaterTech pioneer focused on remote water purifying, monitoring and dispensing innovations, has raised 5 million USD in Pre-Series A funding, in a mix of equity and debt. The round was led by Spanish Roca Group Ventures, Roca Group’s venturing fund, with participation from others. This movement marks Roca’s first-ever investment in a startup in India. Boon aims to drive the fundraise to scale its AI-enabled WaterIoT™ platform. WaterIoT™ helps purifiers to monitor the quality of every single drop of water with app-based quality adjustments. Boon uses its patented technologies as predictive filter maintenance using AI to ensure high efficiency and reliability of water purification systems. Co-founded by IIT Kanpur alumnus Dr. Vibha Tripathi and PennState alumnus Advait Kumar in 2015, Boon (formerly known as Swajal) is a technology startup challenging the inertia around drinking water by providing the purest and most nutritional water for a healthy body.

The project addressed the challenge of designing ultra-low-flow and high-pressure shower heads, combining user comfort with significant water savings. Uktena is an intelligent industrial assistant capable of seeing, recording, and teaching task execution processes through Mixed Reality. This SaaS (Software as a Service) platform has been adopted by Roca to improve training processes for its personnel, providing real-time, hands-free access to a wide range of resources, including information, data, tutorials, automated reports, and expert guidance. The Uktena assistant allows workers to be trained on the go while performing a specific task, thus optimizing the learning process, and avoiding unnecessary added costs related.

The essence of this Proof of Concept (PoC) lies in validating the viability of employing mixed reality solutions for the training of ROCA personnel, whether in a guided or autonomous manner, by utilizing smart glasses. This training encompasses all aspects related to equipment maintenance and assembly, catering to both technicians and sales representatives. Roca has opted to kickstart this initiative with a thermotactic tap, providing Uktena with the 3D schematics of the various components that constitute the tap. Subsequently, Uktena will leverage this information to create a 3D digital twin replete with usage instructions and specifications.

Uktena’s CEO, Rafael Wanderley, possesses a uniquely diverse background, with expertise spanning telecommunications, gaming, history, and archaeology, along with a track record of successful entrepreneurial and research endeavours across these areas.

In 2022, Roca faced the need to develop specific components of machinery to facilitate the automatic uploading of heavy metal pieces in one of their business lines. Leveraging Triditive’s revolutionary technology, the company was able to produce these essential components at an impressive 40% reduced cost compared to other providers. After conducting a successful pilot run with four units in October 2022, Triditive efficiently fulfilled an order of 400 units in February 2023.

In addition to its connectivity with audio and video streaming devices, other advanced features include a skin analysis and the monitoring of vital signs to track user’s health metrics. To enhance its capabilities, the mirror is complemented with an open platform that connects with third-party providers, offering users a range of diverse applications. ActiMirror has built three mirrors according to the specifications requested by Roca while preserving the functionalities of their service. These mirrors were delivered to Roca in late February and were showcased at Roca’s booth at the international ISH fair in Frankfurt. Roca Group Ventures, Roca Group’s venturing fund, has reached an agreement with the innovation platform Plug and Play. This will help Roca Group discovering new technological solutions that will enable to develop new business models and products throughout the supply chain, while collaborating in the investment processes carried out by this platform.

Thanks to the Open Innovation, POCs (Proofs of Concept) will be launched between Roca Group and selected startups, an action that will be driven by the collaboration, ecosystem and methodology of Plug and Play. These collaborations are already underway thanks to Roca Group Ventures’ role as a catalyst and link between the ecosystem and the Roca Group. Its main objective is to accelerate internal and external innovation in a hybrid way, through win-win associations in all geographies and verticals of interest to Roca Group.

ATR is the leading digital platform for home refurbishments in Spain with sustainability at the core of its transformations

Roca Group, world leader in design, production and marketing of bathroom products, has led, through its Roca Group Ventures fund dedicated to the investment in startups and early-stage projects, the €2.5 million capital raising for the leader in home refurbishments in Spain, Aquí Tu Reforma (ATR). With a technological and sustainable approach, this proptech, founded in 2018, bases its strategy on a franchise model that digitises businesses, with the aim of improving the end-user experience.

In words of Francisco Morán, CEO and Co-founder of Aquí tu Reforma: “this agreement with Roca Group Ventures will allow Aquí tu Reforma to become the first global renovation brand to lead the transformation of the sector through technological innovation and with a clear focus on the well-being of people in sustainable cities”.

ATR will use these new funds to strengthen its sales team and to expand its network of franchisees in Spain. It will also boost the development of its technological capabilities and expand its business internationally, although it already has a presence in Italy, Mexico and Colombia.

Aquí tu Reforma has more than 130 renovation companies operating under its brand in Spain and has agreements with large multinationals among the home, renovation materials and banking institutions. Its business is focused on the refurbishment and renovation of homes and buildings, with a consolidated model of brand licences that has a powerful digital platform, which allows the comprehensive management of the refurbishment process for its licensees: from the supply and purchase of materials, to the financing of the final customer, including the management of the works or the refurbishment business itself. In addition, the platform allows the client to be involved in the entire process.

Iberdrola, through its Perseo start-up programme, and Seaya Ventures, among other investors, have also participated in the capital raising.

In words of the head of Roca Group Ventures, Daniel Valverde: “This investment allows Roca Group to strengthen its position in the renovation market, where Roca products have always been an essential element. Thanks to technology, we will increase our knowledge of consumers and their needs when renovating their home or bathroom, always from a sustainable point of view”.

This is the first investment of the 25-million-euro fund announced by Roca Group last year. As its CEO, Albert Magrans, points out: “Roca Group Ventures seeks to generate a hybrid entrepreneurial model that combines the advantages of a large company (resources, scale, knowledge, experience, marketing) with innovation, technology, motivation, agility and talent of a start-up”.

In the upcoming months, new investments are expected from the fund, which expects to close the year with 4-5 startups in its portfolio.

Since March 2022, Roca Group has had Alantra as advisor to its Roca Group Ventures fund. Alantra, through its Venture Capital unit, supports corporations in the launch and management of their corporate funds investing in startups.

Roca Group Ventures has participated in the annual event that Angels Capital, the investment vehicle of Juan Roig for start-ups, organizes. In this occasion the event has got together 250 investors coming from all around Spain and Europe. The participants have had the opportunity to receive firsthand pitches from 13 top innovative start-ups and the opportunity to hold interviews with other startups of the ecosystem.

The entrepreneurs have had the opportunity to explain the advantages of their products, demonstrate solid traction and explain their expansion plans and how are they going to scale their businesses in the following years. Additionally, the entrepreneurs looking to raise funds had the opportunity to pitch tier-1 investors their businesses and capture their attention.

Marc Gasol, former NBA player and General Manager and Founder of Spanish premiere league Basketball team Basket Girona opened the session explaining his own personal and professional experience in his successful business project. RGV had the opportunity to meet several startups with potential to deliver value to Roca Group and involve business areas in the analysis of the opportunities.

After having defined in many work sessions with more that 11 Roca Group business units of different functional areas more than 75 challenges, those were prioritized and consolidated by Roca C-Level executives to 9 ambitious challenges that were announced and communicated through social media. The one year collaboration between Roca Group ventures and Lanzadera is now starting to deliver the first POC proposals and imminent projects launch, that will deliver win – win outcome between Roca Group and the start-ups engaged and selected in such amazing journey.

From 15-18^th June was held in Paris Viva Technology, an international trade fair dedicated to technological innovation and startups.

A delegation of 7 Catalan companies visited the fair to discover the innovation ecosystem of the Paris region and to foster links between Catalan and French actors and Roca Group was one of them.

During our visit, we exchanged with the Open-innovation Managers of TotalEnergies, EDF, Orange, L’Oréal, RATP Dev, Dassault Systèmes and Software République. We also visited STATION F, the world’s largest start-up campus, and RaiseLab, a hybrid space designed to foster innovation and collaboration between start-ups and large corporations.

The mission was organised by ACCIÓ and the Paris office of Catalonia Trade & Investment.

From June 8th to 10th our team was at South Summit to discover start-ups that may work with Roca and bring innovative ideas that enrich our services and/or processes.

Specifically, our colleagues Daniel Valverde and Enrique Dupuy de Lome were on the jury on June 8th in the start-up pitch sessions that will take place in the Next Big Thing stage in the Energy Transition & Sustainability and Industry 4.0 tracks respectively.

On Thursday June 9^th, Frank Gómez, from the Digital Transformation team took the floor as speaker in the panel “Cognitive Cities: Beyond Smart” in the Playground Stage. The panel where Frank contributed talked about the power of data and its impact on cities, mobility, and homes and how the citizen is affected and what is the value it brings.  Mercè Tell was on the same day part of the jury of the Final Challenges – City XXI within the 15th edition of the EmprendeXXI Awards of Caixa DayOne.

Representatives from our business units met at Lanzadera’s Valencia facilities for a working session to review the challenges for this year and, most difficult of all, to prioritize them.

Among our internal champions, and in a demonstration of our group’s commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship, we had the presence of managers from the areas of Innovation, Furniture Competence Center, Digital Transformation, Talent, Corporate Operations and New Business, Commercial and Sales and our Ventures team.

The mission of the day was that everyone could know Lanzadera and its innovative initiative and way of working with start-ups and offer them pitch sessions with start-ups that may have an angle of collaboration with Roca.

The excitement and desire to work with start-ups was remarkable throughout the day and after a difficult vote the main challenges to be worked with Lanzadera this year were agreed. We hope very soon to be able to give you news of the implementation of collaboration agreements or the launching of pilots with companies in the Lanzadera environment since we are sure of the value of many of them.
